Ceiling height

Floor-to-floor = ceiling + 1 ft floor. Sets how many stair steps reach the next floor.

First floor above grade

How high the first floor sits above grade. Rooms marked Grade drop by this much.

Room colours

Applies to every floor, in the plan and the 3D views. Each room keeps its own colour underneath — switch this off and they all come back.

Roof over the top floor

Right-click an outer wall on the plan (or press & hold on touch) to make it a gable end — the roof runs out to it at full height instead of sloping down to it. Gable the ends of each wing and you get a cross gable, with the valleys where they meet falling out on their own. The dashed lines are the ridges and hips.

Pitch & heights

Wall height is the knee wall the rafters land on — 0 puts the slope right on the floor. The ceiling flattens off once it reaches the height above.

Ridge lines

Pick the tool and drag on the plan to lay a ridge down. Every wall hips up to the nearest ridge, so the ridges are the whole design. Give them all the same height and the roof comes out level. Drag an end square to move it — it snaps to 6", to square, and to another ridge's end.

Dormers

A shed dormer: pick the tool, then click the outer wall you want it on. It runs back to the ridge and gives standing height at its own wall — edit the numbers below.

Interior walls

Click Add dimension, then click two points on the plan. Each point snaps to a wall face (inside/outside), a corner, or the lot line. The distance is labelled. New dimensions stay straight (horizontal/vertical) — uncheck straight in the list to let one go diagonal. Esc cancels.
